The Knitter's Hangout

September 3, 2007

My name is Lela Conrad.  I am a confirmed Knitter--Socks and Dishclothes are my favorite.  But I do enjoy lace knitting, too.  You will find some of my sock and Dishcloth patterns in the website where you have found this blog.

I'm new at this endeavor, so be patient with me!

I just started knitting a few months ago and I love doing scarves and dishclothes. I am hoping to give away a lot for Christmas. Maybe someday I will be able to do your amazing patterns.

Dear Lela, my name is Donata and I'm from Germany. I'm fascinated by your dishcloths and made already 20 of them in different sizes and with different yarns.Lots of my friends (age between 30 and 85)are asking for the pattern but aren't able to read the english instruction. Therefore I would like to ask you for your permission to work out a corresponding pattern in german. Thank you for the happy knitting hours with your patterns and with best regards Donata

Dear Lela I have tried to print the pattern for the lace topped socks, but all I can download is up to Toe Up Cast On. Please would it be possible for you to email to me the rest of the pattern. I tried to find an email site for you but this is all I could find. regards Vivienne Bahr email furlegs78@gmail.com

Vivienne, I'm sorry it has taken so long for me to respond. I have not checked my blog until today. Had knee surgery this past winter and that slowed me down a bit. I will check the pattern and see that you get a copy of the sock. I'm sorry you had a problem. Lela

Donata, Sorry for the delay in replying. Of course you may translate the pattern. I have had other translate my sock patterns into German. Let me know if you need any pattern clarifications. Lela

Donata, Sorry I have taken so long to answer your message. Of course, you are welcome to use my patterns in anyway you can. The patterns have been translated into German. I can't remember the name of the person who did it, but I will check my files if you would like to have her name. I would be happy to help you in any way I can. Lela Conrad

Will you allow me to translate the 9 and 8 inch sawtooth pattern into danish - and let it circulate as freeware? Do you want your name on it? something about copyright? Do you want the file sent to you? Would you like it to be on a danish charity site (rokken.dk) for people to download? all my best - and thank you for the design AN
